The Screen

In 1907 the carved teak screen was set at the entrance to the choir. In 1940 it was moved, except for its centrepiece, to its present position at the west end of the church. The centrepiece followed in 1954.

A brass tablet on the screen records that it was erected by Hugh Campbell Highet M.D.,D.P.H.in loving memory of Lillias Mary, his wife . After Dr Highet’s death in 1929 another tablet was added to commemorate his long service in Siam as Medical Officer of Health.
